NEET 2025: National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the entrance exam for NEET once a year. The full form of NEET is National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. As per NEET 2025 update, Ministry of Education has issued a press release stating that the syllabus for NEET 2025 will remain unchanged. The exact pattern of NEET 2025 will be announced shortly.

NEET 2025 registration date by NTA will be announced shortly after the release of exam date. Authority will release the NTA NEET 2025 application form in an online mode at neet.nta.nic.in. Through NEET UG 2025, admission to 80,055 MBBS, 26,949 BDS, 50,720 AYUSH and 525 veterinary seats will be granted. Admission to 1,899 AIIMS MBBS and 249 JIPMER MBBS seats will be through NEET 2025. Every year more than 15 lakh aspirants compete in the NEET entrance test. Last year, a total of 15.97 lakh candidates registered for the NEET UG exam.
NTA NEET 2025 application form can be filled by eligible candidates who have completed their Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. To fill the application form, candidates will have to enter their NEET credentials at neet.nta.nic.in login 2025 and complete the application process. Only the registered candidates can use the NEET application form correction window 2025 to edit the incorrect details.
NEET Exam 2025
The admit card of NEET UG 2025 can be downloaded only by registered candidates. NTA will conduct NEET UG 2025 in 3,843 exam cities across India. NEET hall ticket 2025 along with ID proof and relevant documents must be carried at the exam centre while following the NEET dress code. There will be 180 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) in the NEET exam divided in three sections. NEET 2025 question paper will have 45 questions from Physics and Chemistry each, while 90 questions from Biology. Answer key of NEET 2025 will be released by coaching institutes few hours after exam. NEET result 2025 will be announced in the form of a scorecard mentioning personal details, All India Rank (AIR), total and subject-wise percentile scores and others. What is NEET 2025?
National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is the single entrance test conducted at UG level for admission to medical courses. NTA NEET 2025 will be conducted in an offline mode for admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BSMS, BUMS, BHMS, and BVSc & AH courses. On the basis of NEET 2025, admission to 542 medical, 313 dental, 15 AIIMS, 2 JIPMER, 914 AYUSH, and 47 BVSc & AH colleges will be granted.
NEET 2025 score will be used for admission to:

- 85% state quota medical seats
- Central and deemed universities
- State, management, and NRI quota seats in private colleges

NEET Eligibility Criteria 2025
For candidates to appear in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, 2025, they must fulfill the NEET UG eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria of NEET 2025 includes minimum and maximum age requirement, educational requirement, subjects studied in the qualifying exam, status of the qualifying exam, category, and nationality.
- Minimum age requirement: Candidates applying for NEET 2025 must have completed a minimum 17 years of age at the time of admission as of 31 December, 2025.
- Maximum age requirement: The maximum age limit for candidates is 25 years. Applicants older than 25 years are not eligible to sit in the NEET UG 2025. However, candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC-NCL, and PwD category are offered a relaxation of 5 years in upper age limit.
- Nationality: Candidates eligible for NEET 2025 admission include Indian Nationals, Non Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizen of India (OCI), Persons with Indian Origin (PIO), and Foreign Nationals.
- Educational qualifications: Candidates who have either completed or are appearing in 10+2 or equivalent are eligible to appear in NEET UG 2025.
- Subjects studied: To apply for NEET, aspirants must have studied physics, chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English as subjects.
- Minimum marks required in qualifying exam : Candidates must secure atleast 50% marks in physics, chemistry, and biology combined in the 10+2 qualifying exam. For SC, ST, OBC-NCL category candidates the minimum marks required are 40%.
- Several NEET aspirants reappear for NTA NEET exam after taking a drop year in between, appear for NEET while pursuing another degree, or complete their 10+2 study from open schooling. For such candidates there are other eligibility requirements which NTA divides under qualification codes. NEET Application Form 2025

Documents/details required for NEET Application Form 2025
- Identity card: IDs such as aadhaar card, ration card, bank account passbook, passport, or any other government photo ID card.

How to fill NEET application form 2025?
- Registration: To commence the NEET registration process candidates need to register at neet.nta.nic.in login 2025. After login, candidates will be asked to fill personal, identification, and communication details at the registration page.
- Filing of application form: After registration candidates will be directed to the NEET UG application form which requires information such as caste category, nationality, state code, choice of exam cities, choice of language for question paper, academic qualifications, and details of the parents. - Uploading of images: Step three of NEET 2025 application form involves uploading of scanned images. The requirements for uploading images must be read carefully to avoid rejection of the application form.

NEET Admit Card 2025
The National Testing Agency will issue NEET admit cards to candidates whose NEET 2025 application forms have been accepted by it. Candidates will be required to download their NEET UG admit card by logging in on the NTA website. As per the instructions by NTA, it will not send the NEET hall ticket to any candidate individually.

Instructions to follow in NEET exam centres 2025

NEET Dress Code 2025
To ensure a fair play in the NEET 2025 exam, NTA releases strict guidelines with respect to the dress code for the exam and the items which are not permitted inside the examination hall. Candidates not adhering to the prescribed NEET 2025 dress code will not be allowed to enter the NEET test centre. The NEET 2025 dress code is as follows :
NEET Dress Code for Boys
- T-shirts or shirts with half sleeves are permitted.
- Trousers/bottom wear should not have multiple zip pockets, big buttons, pockets, and embroidery. Kurta pyjamas are not allowed.
- Shoes are not allowed inside the exam centre. Candidates can wear light sandals or slippers.
NEET Dress Code for Girls
- Girls can wear half sleeves kurtas. Full sleeves are not allowed.
- Trousers/bottom wear should be simple without fancy buttons, pockets, and embroidery. Salwars are also permitted.
- Girls can wear very low heel sandals and slippers.
NEET Exam Pattern 2025
One of the prerequisites before appearing for the NEET exam is to be familiar with the NEET exam pattern 2025. NEET UG exam is conducted in offline mode that is pen and paper mode. The exam is divided into 3 sections - physics, chemistry, and biology. NEET Exam Difficulty Level
Last year the difficulty level of NEET exam overall was moderate. The NEET 2024 question paper was largely based on the NCERT syllabus. NEET Physics included both theoretical and numerical questions. NEET test takers found the numerical based questions asked in Physics section of NEET 2024 paper tricky and calculative.
The level of NEET chemistry section was easy, however, it did include some confusing questions. Majority of questions asked in NEET chemistry were from NCERT. Difficulty level of NEET Biology section, which carries the highest weightage, was easy to moderate last year. 42 questiosn were asked from Zoology while 48 questions were from Botany.

NEET 2025 exam day guidelines
NTA releases instructions to be followed on the day of NEET exam 2025 in the information bulletin. Before entering the exam hall, candidates will have to undergo a strict security check followed by document verification by invigilators. Documents to carry on NEET 2025 exam day

- One passport size picture to be pasted on attendance sheet

Reporting time: As per the instructions by the NTA, the entry to the exam hall will close sharp at 1:30 PM and no candidate will be allowed to enter after that. Thus, candidates must reach the test centre on or before the reporting time.
Dress code: Candidates must follow the prescribed NEET 2025 dress code and avoid carrying any of the prohibited items. In case any candidate wishes to follow religious dress code, they must report to the test centre an hour earlier for a security check. Such candidates also have to declare the same in the NEET UG application form.
NEET 2025 Banned items:
- Accessories include wallets, belts, caps, bracelets, handbags, goggles, and watches.
- Electronic devices include mobile phones, earphones, bluetooth, pager, and digital watches.
- Stationery items include pen, papers, geometry box, calculator, and log table.
- Eatables: Packed or unpacked food items and personal water bottles are not allowed inside the exam hall. Diabetic candidates are allowed to carry their medicines, food, and a transparent water bottle inside the test centre.
Unfair means: After entering the NEET exam hall, candidates must ensure that:
- They are not carrying any of the prohibited items
- They do not have any means of cheating
- They are not indulging in any conversation with fellow candidates.
- Candidates found in any of the aforementioned circumstances, will be charged with an unfair means case.
Basic rules and regulations inside NEET exam hall:
- Candidates should ensure that the invigilator present in their room signs their NEET 2025 test booklet and answer booklet. Unsigned booklets will not be checked.
- Candidates must remember to sign against their name and NEET roll number on the attendance sheet.
- After completion of the exam, candidates must submit their answer sheet and the rough sheet used during the exam to the invigilator.
- No candidate will be allowed to leave the NEET 2025 exam hall before the completion of the exam duration, that is, 3 hours.
- The exam will be conducted between 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and all candidates will be allowed to leave the exam centre after 5:00 PM.

In case of any discrepancy in the solutions marked, candidates can challenge NEET 2025 official answer key. To raise objections for NEET answer key, aspirants have to mention the number of questions and provide a specified reason of challenging the answer with a valid answer. For every NEET answer key challenge Rs. 1000 must be paid in online mode using debit/credit cards and net banking.
After the release of the answer key, NTA will release the NEET 2025 OMR sheet, which can be downloaded from the link provided on this page, when available. The OMR sheet of NEET will display the scanned images of question booklets of candidates. NEET OMR sheet 2025 can be used to tally the solutions from the answer key to determine the expected scores obtained in NEET UG 2025 exam. In case of any issues, aspirants will be provided a facility to challenge the NEET OMR sheet by marking each question number. For each challenged question, candidates need to pay Rs. 1000 in online mode.
After verifying the challenges made by candidates in NEET answer key 2025, NTA will release the final answer key. The answers marked in NEET final answer key cannot be challenged. The result will be prepared on the basis of the final NEET 2025 answer key.The result will be announced a few hours after the release of the answer key.
NEET 2025 result
NTA will release the NEET result on its website - ntaneet.nic.in. Candidates can check their result from the link available above. To download the result of NEET-UG 2025, aspirants need to enter NEET roll number, date of birth and security pin. Aspirants securing NEET minimum qualifying percentile will be included in the result of NEET 2025. The NEET UG 2025 result will be used for admission to 15% All India Quota (AIQ), 85% state quota, 100% seats in central/deemed universities, private universities, ESIC/AFMS institutes. The admission to 1,899 AIIMS and 249 JIPMER MBBS seats will be allotted through NEET scores. NEET 2025 results will be valid for admission to one academic year 2025-22. Candidates who wish to get MBBS admission abroad must qualify the NEET exam.

NEET total marks is 720. NEET 2025 score will be calculated based on the marking scheme released by the NTA. According to the marking scheme, candidates are awarded +4 marks for every correct answer and -1 marks are deducted for every incorrect answer. The formula used for calculating NEET 2025 marks is -

NEET 2025 Merit List
NTA will prepare NEET 2025 merit list based on NEET UG score. The NEET merit list 2025 will include the names of the candidates who have qualified the NEET exam. Aspirants can download the NEET merit list 2025 from the link available above.
- Candidates whose names are included in the NEET merit list become eligible for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and BVsc & AH courses.
- Based on this NEET merit list 2025, further NEET counselling will be conducted for 15% AIQ and 85% state quota seats.
- Three types of NEET UG merit lists will be released by the NTA - All India merit List also known as the overall merit list, AIQ merit list, and respective states’ merit list.
- The overall merit list will mention the All India Rank (AIR) of NEET 2025 qualified candidates.
- the AIQ merit list will mention the AIQ rank of the candidates which will be used for admission to 15% AIQ seats for medical and dental seats.
- The state merit list will mention the respective state rank of the candidates which will be used for admission to 85% state quota seats by respective state authorities.

NEET 2025 Cutoff
Candidates have to secure a minimum percentile in the NEET exam 2025 to be eligible for further admission process. NTA will release the NEET 2025 cutoff along with the NEET result in the online mode. The category wise minimum percentile for NEET previous year can be checked from the table below.
NEET Minimum Qualifying Criteria
NEET 2025 Counselling Process
Based on the NEET rank, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on behalf of Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) conducts NEET counselling 2025 for admission to 15% AIQ, deemed/central universities, ESIC/AFMS institutes. MCC also conducts AIIMS counselling and JIPMER counselling through NEET scores for 100% seats. The counselling of NEET 2025 is conducted in online mode at mcc.nic.in/UGcounseling. Only two rounds will be conducted for AIQ NEET counselling, while a mop-up round will be held for deemed/central universities, ESIC, AIIMS and JIPMER vacant seats.
While the counselling of NEET 2025 for 85% state quota seats and all seats in private colleges will be done by respective state counselling authorities. For NEET allotment of seats in state quota seats, aspirants need to fulfil the domicile, age, qualification and other eligibility criteria as set by the state. To participate for state-wise NEET counselling, aspirants need to fill the application form mentioning all the details asked. Based on NEET details, the respective authority will release the merit list.
On the basis of NEET rank, choices filled, seats available, reservation criteria and other factors the admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, BVSc and AH courses will be granted. Following are the kind of NEET counselling conducted:
15% All India Quota NEET counselling
Counselling for seats under 15% All India Quota (AIQ) will be conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). The schedule for 15% AIQ counselling will be released by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on behalf of the MCC on its official website - mcc.nic.in.

85% state quota NEET counselling
Counselling for seats under 85% state quota for each state will be conducted by the respective state authority. The schedule for 85% state quota counselling will be released by the state authorities on their official website.
Under 85% state quota seats NEET counselling, NEET 2025 qualified candidates will be offered admission to respective state medical colleges or universities and private medical colleges.
Deemed university counselling
The counselling for admission to 100% MBBS/BDS seats in deemed universities will be done by the MCC. MCC will not conduct any separate rounds of counselling, rather will conduct combined NEET counselling rounds for admission to 15% AIQ seats in central universities, AIIMS, JIPMER, ESIC, and AFMC institutions. There is no segregation of 15% and 85% seats for deemed universities.
AYUSH courses NEET counselling
AYUSH Admissions Central Counseling Committee (AACCC), Ministry of AYUSH will conduct the NEET 2025 AYUSH counselling for All India Quota seats. The schedule for AYUSH 2025 counselling will be released on the official website - aaccc.gov.in.
Through NEET 2025 AYUSH counselling, admission to BAMS, BSMS, BUMS, and BHMS AYUSH courses will be granted. Participating institutes include government, government aided, deemed universities, central universities, and national institutes.
For state quota seats, respective state authorities will release the counselling schedule and conduct NEET UG AYUSH counselling.
NEET 2025 Seat Allotment
After conducting MBBS/BDS counselling for 15% AIQ seats the MCC will release the NEET 2025 counselling result in the form of a seat allotment list. The NEET 2025 seat allotment list will be released in pdf form after each round of counselling. The NEET seat allotment list will include the personal details of the candidate, NEET details, and the college and course allotted to them.
Along with the result, MCC will release the NEET 2025 seat allotment letter for each candidate individually and the schedule for reporting to the allotted colleges for securing admission. After release of seat allotment list, the NEET 2025 admission process for the respective round will be completed. Similar process will be followed by the respective state authorities of each state.
